The action will thus be safer and faster.
Send your donations to:

World Scout Bureau - Haiti Solidarity
 UBS - CP 2600 - 1211 Geneva 2 - Switzerland
 IBAN : CH980024024039633710T
 SWIFT : UBSWCHZH80A

You can also make an online donation.

2. Send your donations to support the rehabilitation and reconstruction period:

As in every humanitarian crisis, the emergency aid is followed by a long period of rehabilitation and reconstruction. The Haitian Scouts have had a long work experience with the United Nations System and other humanitarian entities, they will therefore be the natural partakers in the aid to their country's youth. They will need your help.

Send your donations to:

World Scout Bureau - Haiti Solidarity
 UBS - CP 2600 - 1211 Geneva 2 - Switzerland
 IBAN : CH980024024039633710T
 SWIFT : UBSWCHZH80A

You can also make an online donation.

Support International Humanitarian Aid

If you choose to support the action of humanitarian agencies, we recommend that you approach those that have been long standing partners of the Scout Movement ( Red Cross ) that are organised and who have the necessary infrastructure to coordinate the support to Haiti from your country. It is unnecessary to give or to attempt to send products or goods that are not of first necessity. Please refer to the requests made by emergency crews.

------------------------------

<a style="font-family: trebuchet ms; This is to celebrate the pack’s fundraising efforts and reward the scouts and their families for a job well done! The boys will also be receiving their prizes. Unfortunately none of the dens reached the given goal of averaging $200/scout. Den 7 was only off by $47! (Lucky girl Christine!) Hence, no den leaders will be getting a pie in the face! I’m looking forward to finishing up the popcorn sales on a sweet note! See you there!

___________________________________

Cubmaster succession: We are actively looking for a new Cubmaster for your boys in Pack 184. Cubmaster Joe Dougherty is moving on to Boy Scouting after 7 years with the Pack.

The new Cubmaster will be needed beginning with our March 2010 Pack Meeting (click here for the B.S.A. official responsibilities of a cubmaster). Securing strong leaders, planning den and pack activities, advising other leaders and adult family members—these are all ways in which the Cubmaster affects the kind of Cub Scouting each boy in the pack is offered. It read:

Dear Scouts,

If you have ever seen the play ‘Peter Pan’ you will remember how the pirate chief was always making his dying speech because he was afraid that possibly, when the time came for him to die, he might not have time to get it off his chest. It is much the same with me, and so, although I am not at this moment dying, I shall be doing so one of these days and I want to send you a parting word of goodbye.

Remember, it is the last time you will ever hear from me, so think it over. I have had a most happy life and I want each one of you to have a happy life too. I believe that God put us in this jolly world to be happy and enjoy life. Happiness does not come from being rich, nor merely being successful in your career, nor by self-indulgence. One step towards happiness is to make yourself healthy and strong while you are a boy, so that you can be useful and so you can enjoy life when you area man. Nature study will show you how full of beautiful and wonderful things God has made the world for you to enjoy. Be contented with what you have got and make the best of it. Look on the bright side of things instead of the gloomy one. But the real way to get happiness is by giving out happiness to other people. Try and leave this world a little better than you found it and when your turn comes to die, you can die happy in feeling that at any rate you have not wasted your time but have done your best. ‘Be Prepared’ in this way, to live happy and to die happy - stick to your Scout Promise always - even after you have ceased to be a boy - and God help you to do it.

Your friend,
Baden Powell of Gilwell

__________________________________________________

Pack Committee Meeting, Wednesday 3/18 @ 7:30 PM

Pack Committee Meeting Schedule
--------------------------------------
When: Blue & Gold Banquet is celebrated during the Scouting Anniversary month of February; It is a "birthday party" for Cub Scouting. In nearly all packs, the blue and gold banquet is a highlight of the year. It brings families together for an evening of fun and cheer. It's our pack meeting for February.

The purpose of the blue and gold banquet is to celebrate the pack's anniversary, thank pack leaders and other adults who have helped the pack, and inspire the leaders, Scouts, and parents.

We have invited former Pack members and other Scouting and community leaders to take part in our blue and gold banquet and Webelos II cross-over (bridging) ceremony.

The Cross-over Ceremony is a "graduation" for our Webelos II Scouts. It is for scouts that have achieved the highest rank in Cub Scouting - the Arrow of Light. The main goal of Cub Scouting is to prepare boys to become Boy Scouts. The ceremony of crossing the bridge marks their completion in Cub Scouting and the beginning of a whole new experience in Boy Scouting.
